Beyond Whales and Dolphins:
Ocean Vocabulary in English
The ocean hides entire worlds beneath its surface, filled with animals as strange, beautiful, and diverse as any found on land.
In a previous article on marine life, we explored some of the ocean’s most familiar inhabitants, including whales, dolphins, sharks, and sea turtles. Yet those famous creatures represent only a small part of the extraordinary diversity found beneath the waves. From graceful manta rays gliding through tropical waters to curious sea lions resting on rocky shores, today’s vocabulary introduces a new group of ocean animals and helps expand the language we use to describe the world’s largest ecosystem.
