Work and studies are part of how we describe our lives.

After learning how to introduce yourself and talk about your routine, the next step is learning how to speak about what you do: your job, your studies, your responsibilities, your goals, and the things that occupy your time every day.

These conversations appear naturally in many situations:

Meeting new people
Talking with coworkers
Studying abroad
Traveling
Professional communication
Casual conversations in cafés, universities, or workplaces

Being able to explain what you do helps conversations become more personal, more detailed, and more meaningful.

And in another language, that is an important step forward.

A Simple Structure to Talk About Work and Studies

When people talk about their work or studies in Spanish, they usually mention:

Their profession or area of study
Where they work or study
What they do there
Their responsibilities
Their goals or interests

For example:

Trabajo como diseñador gráfico en una empresa de tecnología. Normalmente trabajo con redes sociales y publicidad digital. Me gusta mi trabajo porque puedo ser creativo y aprender cosas nuevas.

Or:

Soy estudiante de ingeniería. Estudio en la universidad por las mañanas y por la tarde hago proyectos y tareas. Me interesa mucho la tecnología.
