Qilin Press Establishes Linda D. Addison Speculative Poetry Fellowship
Qilin Press has established the Linda D. Addison Speculative Poetry Fellowship to support a poet working on an unpublished or in-progress collection of speculative verse. The new award carries $1,000 and honours the poet, editor and mentor whose work has helped shape the field.
The nonprofit publisher says applications will open on 18 January 2027. The call will be limited to the first 50 completed submissions, so writers interested in the programme will need to consult its published eligibility and manuscript requirements before applying.
Speculative poetry brings imaginative traditions such as fantasy, science fiction and horror into verse. The fellowship is intended for poets from the communities identified in the publisher’s eligibility rules, and its organisers say the selection will recognise artistic development, thematic ambition and the potential of the collection.
The announcement creates a new funding opportunity rather than naming a recipient. More application detail is available from Qilin Press, which administers and sponsors the fellowship. The award’s January opening also means it remains a forthcoming opportunity, not one accepting applications in October.
